What We Do

Specialist practice areas

International commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation

We provide clients with access to immediate and honest contentious advice to assist in every step of the way. We have the ability to provide a detailed analysis of a matter from inception and take a measured and focused approach to the various options available and the potential outcomes. We work together with our clients to ensure the best possible outcome.

We have experience in arbitration centers both within the UAE and are affiliated to international arbitration centers including the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Lagos Panel of Neutrals.  We handle small and large-scale and multi-jurisdictional commercial arbitrations and are able to respond quickly and effectively to client needs where time pressure and key strategic decisions are often vital. We deliver.

With a network of associated Counsel in various jurisdictions we can ensure client needs are met and if we can’t, we will not hesitate tell you so openly and find you the best option.

We have many years of experience in the UK courts at all levels, in the DIFC Courts and our CEO appears as Counsel and accepts appointments as Arbitrator.  We have experience in mediation and are able to advise our clients of the dispute resolution method most suited to their needs to ensure that any dispute is resolved as quickly and in the most efficient manner to cause the least disruption.

Private Wealth

We work with high net worth families and understand the legal and practical issues that arise in private wealth work and planning for succession. We assist on advising families on business structures and corporate governance to best cater for their needs.

Employment law

With over 20 years experience in employment law and experience that spans overseas, we offer a specialist and bespoke service in employment law and act for both employers and employees including senior board level employees and executives in a variety of disciplines.

Our service ranges from drafting policies, procedures and handbooks, to advising on all aspects of the employment relationship from start to finish, and appearing in and resolving contested matters.

We provide tailored advice specifically catered to businesses and are strategic and focussed on each client’s needs.  Our employment offering covers advisory and non-contentious work such as drafting contracts, handbooks and advising on best policies and practice; transactional work such as employment issues that occur in the reorganisation of business and we handle disputes in employment law. We undertake investigations and disciplinary meetings on behalf of our clients. We are with you every step of the way.

In addition, we provide tailored employment law training specific to client needs.

Corporate/Contracts

A properly drafted contract is vital to protect parties and is  a reflection of a number of business and functional decisions contained within a legal framework.

During any drafting or negotiation stage, contractual provisions need to be adjusted to reflect each transaction or each matter. We provide practical advice and work to ensure that  contracts are signed. We review and negotiate contracts, analyse and interpret contracts, draft contracts, create standard clauses and ensure your commercial business interests are met properly and incentivise the counter-party to sign.
